Dr. Eric Wilkinson, a dedicated, fellowship trained Orthopedic Sports Surgeon, brings a wealth of experience to DHR Health's Orthopedic Institute in Edinburg, TX. After graduating from Texas A&M’s medical school in 2012, Dr. Wilkinson served as a flight surgeon in the US Navy providing essential medical support to a Marine aviation squadron. Following this role, Dr. Wilkinson completed a rigorous Orthopedic Surgery residency at UAB in Birmingham, AL, and an Orthopedic Sports Medicine fellowship at Houston Methodist in Houston, TX. With a diverse background that includes working with prestigious organizations like Rice University Athletics, NASA, the Houston Texans, and the Houston Astros, Dr. Wilkinson possesses a deep understanding of sports medicine.

Now, as a valuable member of the DHR Health Sports Medicine team, Dr. Eric Wilkinson focuses on caring for athletes of all levels, from middle school to professional. Serving as one of the Team Orthopedic Surgeons for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Basketball team, Dr. Wilkinson demonstrates a commitment to providing comprehensive care to a wide range of athletes. With a passion for working with throwing athletes and advocating for arm care, Dr. Wilkinson brings specialized expertise to his practice. Additionally, Dr. Wilkinson extends his services to hardworking patients dealing with shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries.
